Located in the countryside of Geneva, our studio is where we think, create, debate, and convince. In brainstorming sessions, strategy workshops, and while testing our ideas with physical models, we fuel our creative process.

At DesignInvestment, we are both holistic companions and detail enthusiasts. Our team comprises design specialists from various backgrounds, who understand and meet the needs of clients worldwide. From the broad vision of an interior architect to the precision and attention to detail of an industrial designer, the meticulous approach of a transportation designer, and the unlimited creativity of a stylist, our combined expertise shapes our design projects and defines our approach.

Mark and Alexandra: Two Who Share a Passion

Before founding DesignInvestment in 2004, Mark and Alexandra both had already developed their personal passion and skill set for transportation design. Mark supported automotive clients by teaching and developing in-house 3D modeling skills as well as expanded his expertise by working in the luxury transportation design field of yachts.

Alexandra worked on her first aviation project, the Airbus A380, as early as 1999 offering forward-thinking design proposals for the jetliner. Digital windows in the cabin ceiling and a waterfall over both decks were pioneering examples displayed in the A380 mock-up and sources of inspiration for airlines.

When Mark and Alexandra met while collaborating on a yacht project, they combined their exterior and interior design expertise and discovered their mutual passion for good design and shared values. The idea of their new design studio was born.

DesignInvestment introduces the first A380 First Class Suite with a separate seat and bed for each passenger

2008

DesignInvestment designs its first Premium Economy Class seat with a fixed back shell for Air France

2014

The first high-density full-lie flat Business Class seat in herringbone configuration is created for Air France

2017

DesignInvestment designs two different business class seats using one common platform for the Air France | KLM group

2018

10th collaboration anniversary with Air France

2019

DesignInvestment develops the “Premium Economy Lounger”: a versatile seating concept offering a flexible adjustment between Economy and Premium Economy seating products

2020

“Continuum” is invented, a long-distance train concept with an autonomous capsule wagon as link to the stations that allows the train to run without stopping

2023

Air France unveils the new A350 business class seat designed by DesignInvestment at Hamburg’s AIX show on the Stelia stand

2024

DesignInvestment celebrates its 20th anniversary

2026

Air France First Class La Première wins the iF Design Award and is nominated Crystal Cabin Award Finalist
